Hi, I’m Hannah. Born and based in Manchester, UK. I re craft worn and vintage pieces, with intricate hand-embroidery inspired by my Ukrainian heritage. My work is adorned with flowers, natural forms and quirky slogans, for a folksy yet modern bohemian feel that’s rooted in sustainability.

My story

I’ve loved nature and mixing the old with the new for as long as I can remember. In fact, one of my first embroidered pieces was a dress that I adorned with intricate roses as a young girl.

Later, I took my love of craft to Nottingham, where I studied BA Hons Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University. There, my affinity for embroidery grew alongside my appreciation of nature. Studying in a smaller provincial town meant green spaces were in easy reach, and I would spend hours walking them for inspiration. No wonder I was nicknamed ‘the flower girl’.

After contrasting internships in New York and Yorkshire, for a small ‘Sheep to Shop’ clothing brand and then a larger corporate fashion brand, I spent the next 10 years working on the shop floor in luxury retail in London and Manchester.

Working on the shop floor was invaluable both in practical business experience and the opportunity to build relationships with customers. I really got to learn about their needs and wants. Being up close and personal with the product nurtured my passion for beautifully crafted things. In my free time, regular visits to favourite places like Portobello market and the V&A museum, kept my curiosity for art and design alive.

With shopping trends changing, retail has been speeding up but I needed to slow down. I have returned to the craft of hand - embroidery. Its a slow process, and in it I find meditation that’s so good for my well - being, something we can all benefit from now more than ever.

This, together with my desire to protect the environment that had always inspired me, and to do my bit to counter fashion’s throw-away culture, has led me to start upcycyling worn and vintage pieces.

Now, I handcraft each item, transitioning it into a one-of-a-kind piece for feminine, colorful and free-spirited people.

Get in touch to commission me on a bespoke piece for a special occasion, or simply something to make every day a little more special.

I’m open to collaborations too, so let me know if there is something we can work together on.

Hannah
